Nick Jones
Just for you I have ventured to the manuals library..... :PAcc. Haynes SU book:The float chamber lid and float are help upside down for this procedure.Measure between the lowest point on the float and the top of the raised lip around the inside of the gasket face on the float chamber lid (use a drill bit or suitable metal rod). Should be between 3.2 & 4.8mm. For plastic float carbs adjustment is by aluminium washers under the needle valve housing. Brass floats (V rare in may experience) you can gently bend the tab. Text implies a different measurement for brass floats but doesn't give one. Also only one measurement given for the whole HS carb family. The Haynes saloon book gives no value. My proper manual is too old to mention SUs.CheersNick
don cook1
Cheers Nick, I have one at about 6mm and one at about 3mm, so some washers needed.Cheers
