Martin M
Hi,removing the Estate roof of a Herald, is there some fixing at the B-post?I cannot find any in the workshop manuals. However roof seems to be firm there. I do not want to damage something.Should I remove the rear windows first? Or lift the roof a bit and then easier to get the rear windows out?CheersMartin
Nick Jones
HI Martin,I think it is the same as saloon. There is a single bolt at the bottom of the b post under the white cloth trim. If you undo this on both sides problem should be gone...... Be ready to catch the windows when you lift the roof off!I think there is a similar bolt at the top also, but harder to access.Nick
heraldcoupe
Two fixings at the top, the rearmost sits underneath the side window seal.Just ine primary fixing at the bottom, however there is additionally a rivet hidden under the seal. This can be accessed by pulling back the lip of the seal,Cheers,Bill.
Dogsbody47uk
Can confirm what Bill says about the top fixings as I took the roof off my Vitesse 3 days ago. I did not find a rivet, just a bolt at the bottom of each side. One came undone easily, the other, distinctly non-standard, had to be drilled out. Cheers, Dave. Martin M
No problem, roof removed. But without the hints I think I had damaged something.Who thinks of a ltttle rivet , hidden by a seal, when there is a big screw next to it? Thanks again Martin
