Rosbif
Hi there boys and girls!Looking at the service chart for my 13/60 it says to "lightly grease" the distributor cam BUT doesn't say with what. (think)I don't want to over do it so what do you people use? Thanks for your time.
garyf
I've used Castrol LM grease, but any General purpose Grease will be ok?Only the lightest smear though. Why not take the Rotor Arm off and put a couple of drops of engine oil in the centre, a drop on the Pivot for the points to is recommended, if you have points still? Rosbif
Thanks garyf, I was wondering about LM. I am also going to add a drop to the centre as you say. The car doesn't have points so oiling them would be pointless, ouch! sorry couldn't resist it.(clown)
Pete Lewis
its most imprtant there is a squirt of oil down inside the dizzy , some base plates have oil stamped near a suitable hole to the underside, the top spindle bush is to a greater extent not engine lubricated , it needs a serviced squirt no and then, delco do have a felt oiler inside , failure to oil ends up with worn spindles and a wobbly cam giving a wide variety of points gaps and poor runningexpensive mistake to ignore the service book small items Pete
