Pete Lewis
possible but if you have loads of spares give it a try and let us all know if you need one it should be available from http://www.distributordoctor.com/distributor_baseplates.htm Pete
thescrapman
I can confirm that a 25d4 base plate fits a 25d6. I had to strip 3 before I found a good one though. The little nylon pips had worn grooves in the steel of the base plate.A quick rub with 1200 wet and dry and some grease made the replacement so easy to turn compared with the badly worn original.Sadly the work highlighted I have the wrong distributor in the car.I have a Mk2 PI one (41236B), rather than a Mk1 PI one (41236A). The replacement is dated 07-69 so only a few months too young.A check of the on-line resource reveals what seems to be quite different advance curves. The 41236A is 2000rpm - 7 degrees800rpm - 7.5 degrees450rpm - 1.5 degreesno advance 175 rpmThe 41236B is3000rpm - 10 degrees1500 rpm - 10 degrees650rpm - 3 degreesno advance below 375rpmCan anyone confirm if these figures are correct???I have assumed it is distributor rpm rather than engine rpm.finally I had assumed the 2 engines were very similar. Is the Mk1 version a 5* special??CheersColin
Pete Lewis
in general dizzy specifications are dizzy revs,, they are decelerating speeds on the curveand they show dizzy advance degrees if checking on the crank you need to double it all Pete
