Lord Sorbington
What is the correct coil for my 1969 mk2 2000? Should it be 6 or 12 volt?I have a new one which is marked '12v ballast', which I assume is correct for my car. Am I right?
Richard B
So long as you have a ballast resistor still fitted, then yes it is correct.
Lord Sorbington
Yup, still have the ballst resistor, on a bracket next to the coil. Will stick the new coil on soonOn the other side of the coil are two capacitors which I assume are some sort of supressor. Thier connection has broken off long ago but there are no ill effects. Is preventing radio interference thier only function? My new CD radio works well so should I worry about the supressors?
Richard B
No thats all the supressors are for (interference suppression).
