Tim Bancroft Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Anyone know what the threads in brake calipers are?Girling calipers on Triumph cars seem to be 3/8 unf, is this different for modern calipers such as Hi Spec or Wilwood?
Roger Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Best bloke to ask would be Chris Witor as he does the kits.
DJB_Harvey Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Im sure wilwood calipers are bsp thread...not sure about others.
GT6 M Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 not that long ago fitted willwoods ,and they came with the adaptors separate, as a freebeeand was told that they are NPT, [ american ]the other ones i took off, were 3/8 unfso the willwood adaptor will allow you to put your original pipe onregards Marcus
DJB_Harvey Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 yes ...i stand corrected ,they are NPT...getting confused in my old age !
Tim Bancroft Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Thanks for the info.I hope to fit the Hi Spec calipers I bought of James C to the GT6 soon, also have a set of Wilwood to fit to the Herald as well. I have only had these things for about 4 years!
Tim Bancroft Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Good, I have just ordered some adapters from Rally Design in Kent.Owing to the smallish pad area of the Hi Spec alloy calipers I will be fitting the Wilwood items to the GT6 and the Hi Spec to the Herald.
