Pete Lewis
there should not be any springs to get in the fitting zoneis this a coil spring or what is the spring in the gearbox the overdrive , where is it coming from any chance of a photo?? heres view of OD components http://www.canleyclassics.com/triumph-gt6-mkiii-overdrive-kit-continued-
Pete Lewis
Fitting the two together is a nack, are you sure its spring, what can you see?if the splines inside dont align they stop the od from dropping down the main shaft leaves a good gap.the easiest trick is two good screw drivers and whilst dropping the od lever the two pressure platesopen a little this allows the annulus to rotate and all the hub splines line up and she drop into place Pete
