heraldcoupe
Has anyone ever seen a 3-rail gearbox with the prefix CD? It's just come out of an extremely rusty 13/60 Estate, it's coupled to an FD prefixed Mk3 Spitfire engine, so it really could have come from anywhere. As a clue, the gearbox has the thick flange with 5/16" bolts, and the engine had spacers at the mounts to move it forward slightly, presumably so it would fit with the original propshaft. So any guesses? This prefix doesn't show up in any listings I've seen,Cheers,Bill.
Deleted User
CD is the prefix for TR5 and TR6 gearboxes, but I'd be suprised if one was fitted to a Herald.Does it have an integrated bellhousing ?

Stamping of the number is particularly clear and precise too, otherwise I would presume it to be a badly stamped DG (Toledo),Cheers,Bill.
