Richard B
1500 engine / 3-rail 1300 gearbox :- whats the easiest way to put them together? Do I go for a 1300 flywheel & clutch (will the 1300 flywheel fit the 1500 crank) or is there a special friction plate to go with the 1500 pressure plate that takes the 10 spline input shaft.I know there is a special friction plate to go the other way round, ie. 1500 gearbox onto 1300 engine (1500 FWD I believe). Mj17
Simple enough to do - keep the 1500 flywheel and clutch cover plate and get a 7.25"/10 spline clutch plate - GCP103/£38.04 from Canley Calssics for example.
Dicky Blighter
Mine has 1300 flywheel on 1500 engine with standard 1300 clutch, 3 rail box. Works fine no other mods neded.
Clive
most 1300 flywheels have the smaller crank bolts and need drilling out. Pretty simple really. I think dolly 1300 had the right flywheel with the bigger bolts, but the ring gear is for the pre engaged starter. Doh.Anyway, drill the flywheel or bigger clutchplate, the choice is yours and what you have in a box!
