Scimher
I was browsing in the latest issue of 'Classic & Sportscar' ; in the article covering the Spitfire, it mentioned a diff. 'breather! Does a late '64 Herald 1200 have one? If so, could somebody give me some details on it.....Many thanks....
nang
Think you'll find they all have. There's the head of a splitpin on the top of the diff probably covered in dirt and rubbish. Bit hard to see with diff in place but have a feel around and you should find it(woot)Tony.
herald948
It's "behind" the diff, on the top front part of the RH rear mounting leg.
Paudman
As pictured!
Richard B
just give it a good clean and wriggle the pin around to make sure its free.As the diff heats up (when driven) the air expands needing somewhere to go. If the breather's blocked then it forces itself past the seal.
