piman
Hello all, I am looking to find a second hand limited slip differential for my Triumph 2.5 saloon. Now I know that the Dolomite Sprint after a certain year had one as an option, (and fits the saloon case) but hen's teeth comes to mind.Does anyone have any other suggestions for a source of these differentials. What do TR5 TR6 owners use? I prefer a plate type rather than after market torsion type units?Alec
JohnD
Quaife will sell you a torque biasing one, and possibly fit it to your diff. But you don't like those.
Roger Keys
They were never standard fit on dollys as far as i know. Just a rare option. Ive got one, but its currently propping up a dodge charger shell!!! Not sure id sell it though.
piman
Hello John\Roger,Yes I'm aware of the Quaife unit, and at nearly £700 is a bit expensive just now.if that is all that's left, I'm surprised you haven't fitted to your 2000 V8, I bet it could do with it. And yes, as I said it was an option and I don't know how many people took it up.Alec
Roger Keys
My 2000 runs a Rover P6 diff for a higher ratio, so it wont fit. To be honest, being an auto and with the high diff ratio, grip has never really been a problem.
piman
Hello Roger, does it have the de Dion rear axle as well? That's a mod I've toyed with but done nothing seriously about?Alec
