Silky
Priding myself on being fully prepped for the 10CR, I succumbed to the temptation to do some last minute fiddling... decided to top up the gearbox oil using a large syringe via my neat little access panel in the gearbox tunnel. Squeezed syringe and the small plastic nozzle (about 10mm x 15mm) detached itself and dropped into my gearbox... Taking a cross-section of internet wisdom it seems that I should just 'carry on' as the plastic will just get shredded in the gearbox. then drain & flush out the gearbox in a couple 1000 miles. Any advice / sensible opinion gratefully received.
thescrapman
It will only take an hour or so to retrieve it. And the plastic will fatal to an Overdrive if you have one.
michael
Take the gearbox cover off then top off gearbox. Then retrieve plastic tube,if you have engaged gear you will have several pieces to recover, best of luck, regards Michael
glang
What about drain it now? You might be lucky and it comes out and with your access panel refilling will be easy....
Velocita Rosso
If you leave it in...that would be fatal ,as explained...it will float around and do damage especially overdrive Syringe? If you had a small thumb operated oil can and had a piece of plastic washer tube fitted on the end to reach the filler ,there would be no problem.....and you can do it standing up
