Chambers
Just currently tidying up my steering Rack and I've come across a hole in what seems to be the outer tube at the opposite end to the steering knuckle fitting. It has a little plastic plug which just seems to be pushed in but nothing to really hold it there. I'm just wondering, what is the hole, how do I make sure the plug stays in place and what do I have to do with it for maintenance?

Nick Jones
It's an "anti-rattle button" and would normally be under the rubber mounting bush which holds it in place. If you've swapped to solid mounts then it will be left exposed (and usually escapes pretty much immediately) so needs to be held in place with a a jubilee clip and some rubber wrap (cut section of hose will do it. No need to do it tight, just snug.Nick

byakk0
Mine had some paper holding it in place. I used a little paper tape on reassembly
