Tim Bancroft
Looked thro' my Std. Tri. GT6/Vitesse w'shop manual, this states that the flywheel bolts are 3/8UNF bolts on both Mk.1 and Mk.2 2.0L engines. My 2000/2500 Std. Tri. manual states the mk.1 2000 had 3/8 24TPI bolts, wheras the 2000/2500mk2 engines had 7/16 UNF bolts. This would suggest that you have a 2000 or 2500 saloon crank?Hope of use? martin
yes but wasn't it you who told me that the big sallon cranck make the flywheel to close to the bell houseing?can i get away with the big saloon crank in a vitesse?
Deleted User
If it's the right crank it should only stick out a little way from the back plate,if it's the extended one then it will stick out a good half an inch.If its the longer one then i'd be wary fo mating it to your gearbox ,did this with my gt6 and broke it
martin
roughly how much clearance should there be between the flywheel and the back plate?i've got 1/16 of and inch.
Deleted User
That sounds about right ,might be a stupid qyestion but if the bolts fit the crank but won't go through the flywheel ,have you got the right flywheel?
