sam93 Posted March 26, 2017 Share Posted March 26, 2017 What technique is used to take a skim off the input shaft housing on a Type 9 gearbox? Is it safe to remove the four bolts to remove the housing entirely? My thought was to take the housing off and pop it in the lathe?See pictures. esxefi Posted March 27, 2017 Share Posted March 27, 2017 do you mean to reduce the nose diam.to enable the bearing carrier to slide on?there should only be a bearing behind it and some oil if you have any in the box,a simple bolt on/off job.a new gasket required on reassembly possibly.
