Alex
I’m looking for suggestions for the best thing to use for door hinge and striker gaskets.I’m thinking a bit thicker than a cereal box? Any thoughts as to how thick it should be?Thank you in advanceAlex
Nick Jones
Two thicknesses of cereal box......... Or more, depending on your door fit needs. Our Spit had more I think.Alternatively, the backing card from note pads or similar?Nick
Alex
I like the idea of backings from notepads, thanks Nick!Fitted the drivers door last night to recheck for fit before final paint, today I fit the passenger side.Drivers side made me so pleased with all my efforts.....passenger side made me swear lots 😀Almost sorted now but chipped a few areas of paint, need to ‘correct’ the screen frame as it’s touching slightly Obviously no strikers etc fitted yet...... hopefully that will be ok.Alex

efp
Maybe thinner than you are looking for, but I’ve used old manilla file folders before.
