Paint damage to leather seats

Hi I have just got hold of a set of leather seats fr my TR7v8 and the passenger one has paint spray on any ideas how to remove it safelywithout damaging the leather? Also some wear on the right hand side of the drivers seat know any good leather repairers?  ::)

Apparently hair spray removes biro ink from leather seats, so it might work on paint...

You just spray it on the affected area, then rub with a soft cloth

Thanks for the tip Jon I tried it it does work to a certain amount but I think the paint has been on there to long probably set like concerete!!!!

If you have a steady hand ....  ;)
try softening the leather with some decent hidefood,
after that very carefully (as in not damaging the leather) scrape the paint away with a surgeon knife

DO NOT under any circumstances use cellulose or two pack thinners. It takes the colour right off. I learnt the hard way  :'(

I've used after shave to remove ink before - worked a treat (it's the alcohol in it) - not sure if it will work with paint though. Isopropyl Alcohol (available from most chemists - but they may need to order it) is about your best bet, rather than splashing a load of CK One everywhere !! ;)

What ever you use, make sure you have some good quality leather conditioner to get on straight after as it is bound to dry the leather.
