Raider
I haven't heard of it being done before.I also don't know anything about MX5 seats but I certainly do know that TR7 seats are fitted very very low in the car, the seat base can't be more than an inch off the floor. In my TR7 fitting comp seats with side mounting is very tight to avoid anyone over my height (5' 8") hitting their head on the roof (it's a FHC). In rally cars many people lower the floor!!I would also ask why anyway? The standard seats are very good if in good condition
Deleted User
beware tr7 seat runners have the lower outside seatbelt mount attached to them, you will have to re'mount the seatbelt securely to the floor, using strengtening plates or adapt the tr7 seat runners to fit the mx5 seats
wakaday
Yes. It can be done. I sold my beloved TR7V8 and repaced it with an MX5. (Thats another story for another day)The seats are comfortable and figure hugging and available in leather. The other bonus is that if you get a pair from a Eunos Roadster which is the Jap import, they have speakers built into the headrests.
grndsm
I was able to fit Celica GT seat in my TR7 with relative ease. I would imagine that Miata seats are even smaller and easier to install.More details here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2472999/
