Recon starter stuck?

Just went to run the old girl and was cranking to get oil pressure (not to long)... And it just stuck. Solenoid clicks and engine turns fine. It's just out of guarantee!! Still nicely painted.

Anyone had this before and I can repair it... Or is it off to a repair shop?

Did the check from battery direct to motor bypassing solenoid but it didn't spin?

Starter definitely sticks... Stops, then turn the by hand and it spins a bit and jams again.

It's still very new... Any repairers in essex?

I think the TR6 uses the same Lucas LRS101/M35G/M35J starter motor as the Spitfire(s)
You could try taking it apart? They are not the most complicated devices.
You can get the parts to re-bush/re-brush them for about a tenner off eBay etc.

Danbury Auto electics is the one Mike is referring to I think, I use Richard at Starternator Services in Tiptree - old school chap working from a big shed in his back garden!
