JP
Just curious to see if anyone had ever converted their spits/gt6's to Milk float power ? With all these reports of fuel reserves drying up wondered what might be involved.

Rumpith
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!Bloody tree-huggers should be shot for doing that to any British sports car!!!
GT6Steve
I explored this pretty thoroughly in 1980 when a friend had a Datsun 1200 set up with a jet starter motor and a Briggs and Stratton generator under the hood. He had extra starter motors and I deemed it viable until I started looking for the speed controls. They were brutally expensive in those days but with all the available fork trucks for donors it should be a lot easier now. On the Datsun the motor was just coupled to the input shaft of the trans. The little generator (with rope pull) was just for emergencies. All of his batteries were in the back seat area.
mickeywheelspin
It never ceases to amaze me that the tree huggers are ok with electric powered cars simply because nothing comes out of the exhaust! Lets just forget the fact that the power comes from massively inefficient steam power stations.Still, no congestion charge may be a benefit for some.
