2009poolesparky
Hi allIve got a kenlowe electric fan fitted to my mk4 spit.I just need a thermostatic switch to make it turn on and off.In the pic there appears to be a drain hole with a bung in the bottom of the radiator.Could I fit a switch here or is this not an effective location, and if I can fit it here, does anyone know what the thread size is so i can find a suitable switch.ThanksAlex
Nick Moore
I don't know what size thread that is, but it's small. Most thermostatic switches have a 22 x 1.5mm thread. There are a lot of different switches this size, with different on and off temperatures. The tidiest way is to get a 22mm nut brazen to your top or bottom tank (cue recurring Forum argument number 7)* and screw the switch in.* 7 is a guess. But we seem to have a fair few polarised topics which resurface every six months or so!

John Bonnett
Car Builder Solutions sell an in-line adaptor with an M22 thread to fit in the hose. http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/Aluminium_Modular_Inline_Housing_32mm_MOIN32

2009poolesparky
the pipe insert looks good, but id prefer it mounted solid into something, not too keen on cutting pipes and adding clips, just seems more that can go wrong lol
