  1. I reckon you have missed a fill off, and have hit a sweet spot with the setup. 40mpg should be easily attainable for you on a good run, and it will be very economical on the long motorway runs.
  2. I am sure I heard that they are having to open up more halls to give the distancing, and also introduced a one-way system, so you can't wander about and go back and look at something again.
  3. There is nothing like a successful bit of spannering (but not too much) to help lift the morale. Yours was a "nice" problem, obvious what the problem was, and a simple (if time consuming) fix.
  4. Shame you didn't have a spare driveshaft in the boot.
  5. In hindsight, I do not think a single person had any issues, anywhere. We slowed for a few garages, saw they were out of what we wanted, and carried on. A few garages made a lot of money over the weekend, there was definite signs of profiteering, but we just ignored that. Not as if we will fill up,there again for a few years.
  6. We are all geared up to use it at work, was introduced after an incident where a insufficiently accurate location for a fault was provided by a member of the public. You need to make a sanity check, as with many things.
  7. I think it is closer to big cities the worse the situation currently is. Particularly London where most people use public transport so there is fewer fuel stations, and people tend to keep less fuel in their cars just using them at weekends etc. So they are sucking a disproportionate amount of the supplies into their usually empty cars.
  8. As all us Brits ever talk about is the weather (and fuel this week I suppose), have you seen the forecast for this weekend? Minging? Think I will purchase an extra set of wiper blades.
  9. I have a couple of 1000litre IBC, I wonder if I can fill one of them up???
  10. I have been told that Priti Useless has demanded that no petrol stations in her constituency run out of fuel, and that is backed up the Sainsbury's at Stanway receiving 2 (yes 2!) deliveries already today. Me, I am trying to work out how I can get hold of a fuel bowser to put behind the 2000
  11. Perhaps we need to have a bit of a competition here, who can get the furthest from Knebworth before running out of petrol. Acclaims not allowed to enter. 🙂
  12. Brown magnetic stuff on back, glossy white plasticky surface on the front. I am hoping the "low-tack" stickers become "high-tack" ones as they usually do a few days after application. they never come off easily on the Monday after the run. if that fails, gorilla tape round the edges. 🙂
  13. Applied by stickers to magnetic sheet today, corners peeling up already. Put the plaques on a couple of bit of plastic sheet, they are half peeled off.... 😞
  14. Unless there is any dishonest activity, Getting roadbooks signed when you are not with it, We don't need to personally provide any details to the places we visit as the marshalls are gathering that information via the check sheet as they sign the roadbooks. The time of signing is always entered. Also RallyApp is providing a highly accurate record of the location of the vehicle during the course of the event. To have 400 people queuing up to fill out a signing in sheet will create long queues.
  15. Do you not have be multiple cars that look the same? Best way to get them past the financial controller. Just don't ever have them in the same place at the same time. I started a HCR in a red TR6 and finished it in a blue Stag, so it can be done. 🙂
  16. Sainsbury's in Ipswich was closed as all run out. Both Tesco had queues of 20-30 cars. Unleaded was running out, but they were pumping more in the other end as there was a delivery in progress. Have noticed Super Unleaded in short supply over last few weeks. The Shell opposite Sainsbury's had no queue at all, but then they are more expensive. And everywhere has put their prices up today by look of it.
  17. I have never seen a break like that, and I have had a lot of gearboxes through my hands. Is your backplate straight?
  18. You have to remember what the original application is for the Rally App. MSUK does not allow smartphones in the cabin during navigational rallies, but if the phone is set so that if the app is removed from front screen it stops recording and the entrant is excluded. This prevents use of any other function on the smartphone. This use of the phone can be allowed under the regs of the event. It also means events can run with a lot less marshalls, which may make the difference to it not running at all.
  19. I always carry anything easily fixed that rotates, so front wheel bearings, water pump, alternator, rotor arm. That sort of thing. I don't have any doubts about my wheel bearings, but still carry a set.
  20. That is the issue, a number of things were mentioned on Saturday that I don't remember receiving. had no emails recently, Facebook hates me and only shows me occasional things because I won't share my entire life with it, and not seen much on forum. So I assumed they were in the Whatsapp messages.
  21. Removing the covering from a Mk1 2000 dash is a practise doomed to failure, even more so with the early two-tone dashes. it is usually preferable to just live with the splits. Good replacements don't exist AFAIK. You could make one from leather perhaps?
  22. Managed to get connected to the push group, is there are way of getting to the historic messages?
