  1. The start location is in the event regs which are available on the first page of this thread
  2. I'm out again on Wednesday night doing the next in the Hexham 12 car series. Hopefully we'll do a little better than on the last one.
  3. Well have to say that was a good days fun. A good few tests at three different venues, most of which were at a disused Alcan factory/warehouse. On this site alone there were six different tests in the morning some of which were actually in the buildings. In the afternoon we had four separate tests back at Alcan, three of which were repeats of the morning tests and the other used the others effectively joined together. The other venues were a car park at the start venue and a large piece of disused land at Maryport, these two tests were both done twice. I think overall we came away 13th or 14th but we did win our class so very pleased with that.

  5. Did my first one in 2012, can't see me not entering every time from now on. It was the main reason I joined Club Triumph
  6. Should have said earlier I went for a new Hi Torque starter, what a difference it has made to starting, it really throws the engine over. Best modification I've done to the car
  7. Entry form filled in , cheque book eventually found and cheque written, envelope written. Will be in the post this afternoon. My navigator for this event will be someone who has sat in with me before mainly doing stage events. Quite handy as he now lives in the Essex area somewhere
  8. My regular navigator is busy on that day doing TV work for Special Stage TV at Cadwell park.  I'll have to check my reserve list of possibles
  9. have wild thoughts about heading down from Northumberland to see how you southern boys do a 12 car.............
  10. The next event in the Hexham 12 car series is on Wednesday 18th October. It starts in Hexham and finishes at the club home, the Dr Syntax in New Ridley near Stocksfield. The route will all b eon OS map 87. If anyone is interested in taking part send me your email and I can forward on the regs and entry form. I'm planning on putting an entry in, just waiting to hear back from navigator
  11. Cheers for that, good help. I'll have to work out what make mine is and then start speaking to people to get prices etc
  12. ok folks the webasto type (will have to find out the exact make of mine) roof on my TR is going to need an overhaul/refurb in the not to distant future. Are there any specialist around for refurbing them or do people just use a good restorer or maybe a good trim company. Ideally in the North but would travel to get the job done correctly Any ideas would be gratefully received
  13. Well we finished, struggled a little in the second half of the event. We finished 9th overall and not last! I should say there was only ten cars entered
  14. Another tests type event in the North, this time organised by Wigton motor club, the event is based in west Cumbria near Whitehaven on Sunday 15th October, I believe it is a round of the NESCRO championship. As of the weekend there are 16 cars in the historic section and 15 in the modern targa event. There will be a maximum of 30 in each section. Good to see a couple of other Triumphs on the entry list, alongside my TR7 there is a TR7 V8 and a TR3A. Others on the list so far are a couple of Minis, couple of Escorts, Imp and even a 1937 Austin 7 and others. On the targa event the Mazda MX5 seems to be a popular choice with 5 of the 15 cars being one. Regs and entry form available here http://wigtonmc.co.uk/events/2017/10-15.pdf
  15. The next Hexham 12 car event is on Wednesday 20th September, all on OS map 81. My entry is in, there are four places left if anyone is interested in entering. It is a shame they are on a week night as it does prevent a few from taking part.
  16. We had a great weekend up in Scotlandshire, we weren't sure how we would get on with the regularity sections on the event. But I had fitted a GPS tripmeter to the car just before heading off, it was certainly worth buying. After Saturdays four tests, two regularity sections and normal road sections where we had to get code boards we were lying in 5th overall. On Sunday we had the hill climb to do as a regularity section, we had a choice of average speeds, 20, 24 or 30. We went for 24, but didn't do very well a little to fast at the mid point then a good bit to slow at the finish. We ended up dropping one place to 6th, which was far better than we were expecting. Full report and pics will be compiled and sent off to Dale for Club Torque. Some pics may also appear in TR registers TR Action and possibly in practical classic magazine at somepoint
  17. Got some more instructions yesterday, for the hill climb section of the event on Sunday we get to select our average speed. The choice being 20mph, 24mph or 30mph, not sure which we will select. Think we'll have a good watch of the hill on the Sunday morning before we decide
  18. I'm there all weekend doing the Bo'ness saltire trophy road event that is running at the same time. We even get to have a run up the hill on sunday lunch time as part of the road event
