  1. I'm all ready too, changed a front wheel bearing thus morning sorted tools and a few basic spares and put them all in the boot. All left to do is clean windscreen again and apply rainx type stuff
  2. This is a link to the online version, not sure where it is in the actual printed version yet. http://www.hexham-courant.co.u.....96c3-964c143ee9a5-ds
  3. Very nice young lady came to meet me yesterday to take some pictures of me and the car, due to the time Chris couldn't be there. She took quite a lot of pics, then as she was leaving said "by the way you might be on the front page" Yes its only a local weekly paper but the front page? Just have to see if we do end up there or stuck in a corner somewhere else
  4. I sent a little piece to my local paper to see if they were interested. They've been on the phone and coming out tomorrow afternoon to take some pictures of the car
  5. Just added mine, I'm sure there will be more added once I have a sort out.
  6. As others have said why bother just buy some new as it is a safety critical part of the car. Yes I suppose if you were really stuck you could, but nowadays parts are available on line with next day delivery
  7. Misfire sorted, axle and gearbox oil levels checked. Getting tyres fitted tomorrow as they hadn't come in last week. Once they're fitted needs to be used a bit then washed and windscreen rainxed. Then sort out what spares we're going to take and get tools together
  8. Agree this is slowly disappearing from policies, I know I no longer have it on any of my policies. It cost no more to add the second driver, who is now on both the TR and Moss policies and stays on at renewal.
  9. The event is not a rally, I understand it is held on a Touring Assembly permit as there is no element of competition as there is in a rally
  10. my first RBRR I took a good few tins of red bull stuff with me. Think I drank one or two, just stuck to water and coffee at the check points, when feeling tired we just swapped over. We started off swapping at the checkpoints but later on changed when we felt we needed to. As others have said, if you both feel tired stop and both have a sleep. Remember it's not a race
  11. That is my thoughts, better to spend a little money now than trying to sort in the middle of the night in Scotland or Wales. Be calling at tyre place tomorrow or Wednesday see what deal he will do then get the car or wheels to him
  12. Eventually got the distributor in the TR today, fired up just about straight away which was a relief. Slight adjustment and it was ticking over enough to get the timing light on and set it a bit better. Even washed it, MOT, oil change and fluid checks on Saturday as I'll try and blah the use of some lifts at the MOT garage. Also thinking might put some new tyres on, tread is like new but there of them have been completely flat for nearly a year. So thinking the side walls will probably be damaged
  13. I've not sorted what I'll be carrying yet, still need to get the car sorted
  14. Tonight I'm hopefully going to start work on the TR, battery to go on charge tyres to blow up, might even get the distributor fitted. Sunday will be the main day for getting it going and checking over ready for MOT the week after. Why do we always leave things until the last few weeks........... Anything cheap and suitable on ebay at the moment..........................just in case 😎
  15. The distributor for the TR has returned from being overhauled. Should hopefully get that fitted one evening this week and get the car running
  16. We're already on the reserve car, just waiting for distributor to come back from overhaul. Ideally we'd get the front suspension changed, but what is one will do if it has to
  17. I can see some late nights during the coming weeks coming up as I'm doing something every weekend up to the event........... apart from the sunday of the drivers briefing weekend waiting for the distributor to come back, once that's fitted I'll hopefully get the front suspension sorted with new inserts and new springs
  18. Decision has been made to change car, we'll now be doing it in the TR7. Always 2018 for the Moss to return Mr Chinn should have received an email
  19. Still made no more progress with the Moss, been bust with other things. Looking more and more likely we'll be back out doing it in the Sprint engine TR7. Well once I get the distributor back, front suspension overhauled and an MOT put on it. Once we've made the final decision I'll let Jason know if we are changing cars
  20. We are staying at the Novotel next door to the start venue. Staying there on the Thursday evening and the Sunday. Also booked to stay near Warwick on the Friday before the drivers meeting, yes I know we could probably travel down in the morning, but it's a good excuse to make a bit more of a trip of it.
  21. Still got loads to do on the Moss and still to sort the TR. Have been having a quick look at what is for sale................................. ..................just in case
  22. I'm beginning to think I will have to get the TR7 ready as time is ticking by and the Moss is still along way off being ready and I'm busy with other things most weekends from now until at least the end of May. I should have maybe started a bit earlier 😎
