  1. I believe the Feb 12 car is now full. But the next one will be part of the Hexham Historic/John Robson events, so if you fancy a good run out on some great roads in Northumberland. Ideal for those who fancy a go but don't have an MSA licence
  2. Taking the car down to S & S in early March, so hopefully it should be running lovely when I get it back. To be honest it drives not to bad now, but every now and again it hesitates slightly.
  3. Yes, that looks like them. So Capri discs then, shouldn't be to much of a problem to source when needed. Thanks
  4. Can anyone tell me what brake upgrade I have on the front of my car? Are they standard calipers fitted with a spacer to accommodate the wider vented disc? I've managed to find some Mintex numbers on the pads, so they should be no bother. It's the discs that I may struggle to find.
  5. Thanks for that, I'm guessing tne needles should be ok as it was running  ok. Just what it fine tuned to get the best out of it
  6. I'm in the process of getting my sprint engined 7 back on the road. Who would people recommend for setting the carbs and ignition up? Nothing fancy just a basic tune up. Would a rolling road session be worth it? Bear in mind I'm based in Northumberland, but will travel. Cheers

  8. oops when working on my rally car I often have it lifted up and on four stands
  9. Drivers meeting, yes the charity bit maybe went on a bit to long. But the format seemed fine to me. Very similar to last year when we were newbies. The pics of control points I think is good as you know what you are looking for when you get there. Yes it is a bit of a trek for us to go to Gaydon from Northumberland, we travel the day before. For us it is all part of the build up to the event. Food en route, as others have said we plan on breakfasts and then buy something as and when hungry, normally at or near control stops. Yes we live a fair way from any of the local area groups but are still made welcome by all we spoke to on our first event and again on this years. Yes we failed to finish this year, but we'll be back

My vote would be to get as far away as possible from the M25. Colin. I'm pretty sure my local would be happy to host us, is Northumberland to far away to start and finish?  8) 8) After being held up on the M40 in 2012 we had decided this year to take another route, but we didn't get that far this time. But to be fair that is the only section of the route that appears to cause a problem, which is not bad out of over 2000 miles.
  11. Thanks to all the organising team and marshals for all the hard work. As Chris has already said we didn't get very far in the Moss. We'll be back!!
  12. There are signs saying it will be closed on Saturday night, all to do with the upgrade to Motorway between Leeming and Scotch Corner/Barton
  13. Exhaust is much better now with a second silencer fitted and also the front pipe to manifold joint sealed. Jobs left are the tracking which I'll be doing this afternoon when I'm hope from work, fit socket things to enable phones to be charged. Sort out what if any spares I have for this car and pack them along with a selection of tools. Then pack stuff for my self, mainly water proof and warm clothing as we plan on doing as much of the route as we can with the roof down........yes we are mad and no Tim we're not going to swtich to the TR7, well we can't as it's not ready.

  15. We came 4th, with 11 mins dropped and all route checks done. So looking forward to the next one which will probably be in November
  16. I have a Mk iv engine in my Moss. What oil filter do people normally use, it currently has a Motaquip fitted. I'll probably be trying to source it through work as it will be cheaper. Thanks
  17. Well we successfully completed the 12 car last night, dropped about 11 mins I think, so not to bad. Not sure what position we finished yet, but know it wasn't last.

  19. Well after doing the Hexham 12 car last night I've got a couple more tasks to do on the Moss. The exhaust is just too loud so will have to try and fit another silencer in, rev counter lights have gone off, throttle cable needs some adjusting or replacing. Also have to look at the front brakes again as it started to pull to the right about half way through the event. Then an oil change to do.
  20. The Hexham 12 cars are back with the next one on the 24th September. I'm entered in the Moss, so should be a laugh. entry details available from Ed Graham, edgraham01@sky.com
  21. Located one, Fitchetts had one panic over Thank you for the other possible suppliers
  22. Hope its ok to put this post in here as well as in the Herald section I'm hoping someone will be able to help or at least point me in the right direction. I ordered a radius arm bracket from Rimmers, their part number listed was wrong. Now found the correct number and they say no longer available. The part number of the bracket is 120045 radius mounting bracket right hand. It is the bracket that mounts to the chassis to link on to the rear suspension. I'm not sure who else supplies parts for the Herald The main problem is I'm doing the RBRR so need it quite quickly Thanks
