I've not had a chance to look at it yet as been busy with working at weekends. I'm getting busy over the next few weeks but will have to get cracking with it soon. My plan was to order up a selection of various sizes and see what I come up with, I say about 1mm that is just looking at the front pulley when its pushed/pulled, not with a DTI or feeler blades

Cheers chaps. I've not got the engine fitted yet so I'll get it on the engine stand and take the sump off and have a look. It's got about 1mm which is why I noticed it, hopefully new thrusts will sort it.

Bugger, can see it move. Looks like some internal investigation needed, hopefully new thrust washers will sort it

be careful with the rubber lined stainless braided pipe, I had some on my rally car it was terrible for fumes. Changed it to ptfe lined stuff no problem. If you have a local hydraulic hose company handy they should be able to sort it, I use Pirtek

think it was Powerflex I used on my rally car, they were bright purple.....

As I've got the front end of my Moss in pieces it seems logical to replace the bushes. I'm looking to upgrade to poly, when I did that on my TR they came as two part bushes so we're very easy to fit. Do Herald ones come the same, two parts and metal sleeve? I've noticed various colours for different grades/stiffness, what would people recommend? Thanks

As I'm doing a bit more work on my Moss than originally planned I thought I might as well repaint the front end if the chassis. What paints are people using, prefer something to brush on rather than spray, though I do have spray equipment. I've been looking at http://www.rust.co.uk has anyone used any of their products

May seem a silly question, I see the drivers meeting is the 24th September, that is a Saturday rather than the usual sunday is that correct? Just so I can sort travel and accommodation Thanks

Thank you for the replies So to take the spring/shocker assy from the car no spring compressor -- which was the bit I was asking about Then obviously a compressor is needed to take spring from shocker

May be a basic/simple question so I apologise. My Moss is Herald based, my question is about front springs/shockers. Do the springs have to be compressed on the car before removal, or is there a top mount keeping them compressed

I've spotted a radiator online with sensor adapter already fitted so that should help. I'll work out what size fan I need or will fit, then start seeing what modern could be a donor
-
What electric fans are people using these days? is it the normal Kenlowe, Spal, revotec? or do people take one from a modern car? I'm going to be needing one for the Moss, it needs to be able to mount in front of the radiator.

I've tried that and to get to see the full list it's so small I can't read it. Never mind no doubt at some point I'll see the full list
