  1. Nope, can't do that as there is no horizontal scroll bar showing. No doubt some PC wizard will explain
  2. It looks like I've actually got a weekend off this week and I've restored the electric in the garage so I'll eventually get on with the Moss. Engine to come out -- fresh one to go in New cooling fan to source New radiator to source Gearbox to come out -- overdrive one to go in Exhaust to improve Electrics to improve Dash/switch layout to improve Brakes to strip, clean rebuild Remove 2014 stickers   MOT it then use it
  3. Entry list, is it just me or my computer. When I click on the entry list using the drop down boxes at the top of the page I can only see the first 52 entries and have no option to scroll down to see the others. If I reduce the size so they are all on the screen they are that small I can't read them
  4. I'm taking a week off work early February, plan is to get stuck in to doing some work on the Moss. Hopefully get the fresh engine in position check the operation of the overdrive on the replacement gearbox. Might even start look at the electrics as well
  5. John, I'm not sure if there is anything else in them. I've been lucky enough not to need to use it. The downside of them is the cost, at least twice if not more than an AFFF, plus more to get them serviced.
  6. This is the system I fitted to my car which was logbooked in 2007 and used up until I sold in October 2015. No issue with the FIA approved gas system http://www.f-e-v.co.uk/gas-extinguishers/ Lifeline also do a gas system, ZERO 360 http://www.lifeline-fire.co.uk/motorsport/products.asp?page=zero-360-series-fia-24
  7. The fire not going out could more probably be down to the extinguisher, it's well known in rallying that the AFFF extinguishers are no where near as good as the halon/BCF that was used before it was banned. When I built my last rally car I used an inert gas system, I wanted a system that had more chance of working. They say in a competition car the extinguisher is to supress the fire long enough so the occupants can get out
  8. When I started in the trade was always told to put grease in the hub and in the cap
  9. Entry posted first class this afternoon, should hopefully arrive with Jason tomorrow
  10. Well our entry is nearer, form and cheque in the envelope so it will get put in the post on my way home from work
  11. Anyone else mad enough to enter in a Moss, or is that just us?
  12. I'd best get my finger out and get the entry filled in, then the next problem is to locate the cheque book
  13. I've just bought a Porsche Boxster and looking at those seats they look like they would fit in a 7
  14. My first RBRR was in 2012 in sprint engine TR7. We were in amongst the first few away from the Plough no problems at all. Had a very very good run up the A68, well it is our local patch, to arrive first at Edinburgh airport. Still no problems, a steady run up to John O Groats for breakfast. Then we started to have problems as we headed towards Fort William, the car was running rough then would start to misfire. The in line filter was filthy, this was changed which helped for a short while. But we struggled on trying different things at the stops we came to. Once heading down the A74 we decided we'd give up and turn left on to the A69 and head home, but then as we approached Carlisle the car spluttered and picked up and was going like a dream, so onwards. It didn't last as we pulled in to the excellent Westmorland services at Tebay. Roadbook signed and a lot of help and support from various people got the car running better but not perfectly. We found a sweet spot in the revs and decided we'd just drive to that and see how far we got. Heading into Wales I think we were now probably last car on the road, that didn't put us off and we made up some time catching up. Then as we crossed the Severn bridge the car spluttered and backfired and ran perfectly for the rest of the trip. 2014 what can I say about last year, we decided to try and do it in my Moss Roadster. I'd got the car ready and been using it even took part in a local 12 car event, no problems other than the exhaust being a touch noisy. To cure this I modified it and added an extra silencer, all seemed good. I know people comment on the fact that we trailer the car to the start but it is cheaper in fuel coming from Northumberland and I have somewhere secure to leave the van and trailer. So when we unloaded the car and packed in what stuff we could this was the first time it had been fully loaded since the exhaust modification, yes I know basic error. The exhaust was catching the road in an industrial estate in north London, it would be wrecked on the A68 an the Highlands. A visit to Moordale Motros and we had it sorted. That was just the start, we lost headlights before Cambridge services, pulled in there and got them working, then it wouldn't start cable on solenoid had broken, that sorted off we went. Then just before Newark it ended for us serious lack of power, steam, smoke and a glowing exhaust manifold. Game over. But we will be back in 2016 and yes we do plan to do it in the Moss, which is being upgraded so hopefully it will cope a lot better
  15. I've always used Blue Hylomar or Wurth RTV depending on what the application is
  16. We're aiming to try again in the Moss, the list so far replace engine fit overdrive gearbox sort out some wiring issues sort out/change dash layout upgrade headlights strip and clean/replace brakes as required remove last years stickers   no doubt there will be more

I'm going to be fitting a spitfire 1500 engine in to my Moss, which is built on a Herald chassis. Will a spitfire manifold/front pipe fit alright in the Herald chassis? thanks
  18. Would love to do this sort of rebuild/refurb on mine. Maybe one day...................
  19. so use my original 1300 flywheel and a 1300 clutch, drilling out/enlarging flywheel to crank mounting holes. That doesn't sound to difficult to do. Thanks for the help and advice
  20. I've acquired a spitfire 1500 engine and also acquired a 3 rail overdrive gearbox. Which clutch should I be looking at getting for this combination? Theses will be getting fitted in the Moss
  21. Looks stunning in that colour. Will it be ready for the 2016 RBRR?
