  1. Thanks Mike.  Hope all goes well for you, Mark, Colin and all the other marshals involved - should be an interesting experience!
  2. I've plotted the route into my atlas - now looking a bit dog-eared after being used for 2 RBRR and 3 HCRs! - and we'll probably just use that.
  3. Have you tried the distributor doctor? I've heard lots of good things about them - and I hope they're right as mine is there at the moment being refurbished! Probably better than a cheap new copy.
  4. At least the smoke concealed the lack of tread! 🙂
  5. Hi Roger If you click on the entries tab it lists those already entered and provides a convenient entry button for you to use! 🙂
  6. Sounds good Ellis. I've sent Enzo a text, hopefully they'll be an entry in from us later on today!
  7. Hi Pete. That was something I wrote about a year ago! I'm honestly delighted that you've got the Stag running so well.  I just ended up losing patience with it, it's great to see that it's finally reliable. Do I regret selling? - No, because it was right decision for me at the time and you've done things with it that I couldn't.  Anyway here is my 2000 recently. It's now manual and going better than ever. Here's to October 5th
  8. Hi Jim I've just changed mine from my hotmail address to googlemail. Think it's worked 🤔 Click on your username then the settings button to the right. This brings up a menu, choose change address and do the necessary edits. Hope it works for you, I think it has for mine although I haven't had any new emails since doing it. Richard
  9. And me. I do have another email address which I don't normally use though which hopefully will be better. Jason, I've sent you a pm and an email via the rbrr address with the details.
  10. Are you on hotmail? I know there are problems with emails going to hotmail addresses, because that's what happened to me too. I pm'd Keith and next thing I knew it was all sorted out. I'd like to add my thanks to everyone concerned, but especially Keith and Jason who must have been flat out working on this. We'll done all.
  11. Yes, converting to manual od. It was having to put up with screaming revs on the 10CR that finally convinced me. Gearbox is in, overdrive can wait until the new gearknob comes as it's booked in for MOT on Saturday  (pray)
  12. Well done Stuart, I'll get my trophy over to Mike as well. Thanks for the ride out in the pi Steve, what a car!  Gearknob ordered 🙂
  13. I'd probably be interested if the weekends worked out ok to fit in with having the children - as long as we were allowed to be slow!
  14. I'm thinking that my 3rd novice navigator win is looking more unlikely - sorry Steve 😉
  15. Good video Howard. Pretty sure that's Steve Radley and Dave Harvey coming up the other way in Gertie, I know they did the Stelvio twice!
  16. Nice idea Dirk Ours:- Best drive For me - not so sure about Roger! - the road going North West from Ortisei (I think), mile after mile of sweeping bends, without the steep gradients which suited the 2000 much better. Worst drive Trying to get the bl***y car to move at more than a snail's pace at every junction in Mulhouse on Wednesday evening - followed by one of the best moments when we met Chris Allen and he offered to come with us to the car and got it running much better - this was when he was understandably tired and wanted to go to bed. Sums up why I love this club and the friendliness of its members. Best soundtrack Following Tom Keys' TR6 and listening to the backfires on overrun! Weirdest drive The Italian's obsession with little orange speed cameras in every village. Best laugh Being accosted by Alastair and Mark in Lille on Tuesday evening just because I had a CT T-shirt on followed by a huge steak and a couple of beers while watching the locals fighting! Also - crazy bikers! Scariest moment Nearly collecting a pushbike and mad cyclist on the bonnet on a hairpin, he obviously thought that he was in the Tour de France the way he took up the whole of the road.   Wettest moment We were in a saloon - nice and dry at all times   Best views Ditto - The Dolomites are incredible, we had to stop to take it in and take loads of photos which don't do them justice. Thanks again Ellis for getting us in - the first great moment was back in May when I received the email telling me that we were off the reserve list. Here's to 2019.
  17. 19th November's good for me. Don't have a co-driver yet though 🤔
  18. Hi Pete. If it was the driver's side, it nearly came off after the 2014 RBRR. I put a small cable tie round the lever that secures the wiper blade to the arm and that seemed to work ok. 3 years later it may have had enough! As for us, nothing fell off, but we did get through 2 sets of points - rubbish quality condensers seems to be the general consensus - thinking electronic ignition now. Other than that a manual overdrive box would have made the passes easier. Great run though, we both thoroughly enjoyed it - even with an auto! First time for both of us and we'll definitely do another. Thanks Ellis and gang for all your hard work. Richard & Roger - Team 87
