RBRR Control Marshals required
Tim Bancroft replied to Tim Bancroft's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
Hi Gus, Thank you. Still very much attempting to establish what will be a new Control for us in mid-Wales, its likely to be in the middle of nowhere, so a degree of adaptability may be necessary. I will contact you once I know if this Control is feasible. -

Thanks Wendy. Will allocate you to Gledrid. -
Hi all, To run the RBRR we need Marshals to help at the Controls. Simply put, you will be asked to: A) Announce arrival with the owners of the Property: Motorway Service Station duty office, garage owner etc etc. B) Establish the Control and set up the Control position C) Record the cars as they arrive, we will send out the full entry list with space for Marshals to tick arrival. RBRR Central Control will have informed about retirements. D) Sign the entrants Road Book E) Take down the Control once all the cars have departed. F) Let RBRR Central Control know about retirements using whatsapp Time frame for most Controls is 2 - 3 hours. We need Marshals at the following locations Friday night: Wetherby Saturday nIght: Tebay Saturday NIght: Gledrid Sunday Morning: very early: Mid Wales Sunday Morning, very early: Raglan Sunday Morning: breakfast Time: Lands End Hope that you can help. Tim

A message to all RBRR entrants

Thank you MIke, yes please. I will be in contact. -
Just sitting here thinking about people's Triumph cars and wondered which are people's favourites? Here is mine, Dave Picton's Spitfire...2.5Pi with the engine 6 inches backwards. Sadly this pic shows here on the 2021 RBRR just after the diff failed (I think that is what happened). Dave has nailed it here.

A message to all RBRR entrants

So back to an optimistic note. Can we the organisers thank all that have entered this RBRR, it is very much appreciated by the Club Triumph team that our members continue to support and show so much good will towards an event that costs so much in time, commitment and sadly, money. All of us at CT cannot wait to be at Knebworth and see you all parked on the concourse ready to go for a weekend of what we hope will be good driving and adventure. It would be remiss of me not to thank all those CT members and indeed those from other Triumph Clubs who have offered to help with Marshalling either at the start or at the various controls dotted around the British isles. So far I have received offers of help from the TSSC, TR Reg, 2000/2500 Reg and Dolomite Club. How fantastic is that, heartwarming unity within the UK Triumph movement. Thanks all, Tim -

Hi all, Whilst I understand Jim's reaction and why John have stated his worry about over tiredness on the RBRR. And whilst I hope by stating this that we now don't have a tiredness incident, it is important to note that we have never encountered an issue with an accident due to tiredness on the RBRR. However, it is important that all entered crews take a nap when they can. The MSA, Huntington's and indeed CT have no issue with the format of this event, so let's crack on with the positivity! So, can I ask that we go back to showing the cars that are entered and go back to being kind to each other and drop this subject. 123 cars entered for this RBRR, still 100 to be shown!!! -

My TR6 on the 2019 10CR, Andy Martin's ex works Vitesse behind her, not sure where we were though! Popped into the Spar for a sandwich, which seemed bizarre as we were in the Alps.... -

'BLimey, there are some good cars for this year's RBRR. Like Richard's TR8, looks very purposeful. -

Hi Linda and Amy, Should the car not revert to std ride height and not loose the positive camber that they are showing, it is likely that the spring is wrong. You could try a lowering block, but that is a compromise. The correct spring might be better. Talk to Clare or Dave Pearson at Canleys, they will be able to advise. They sell springs from trusted manufactuers. Also, very keen RBRR entrants, so will help you. https://www.canleyclassics.com/?product=alloy-diff-spacers When buying a lowering block, especially a 1'' block, you will need longer bolts. Canleys list these on this page. Once all the suspension work has been done, do get the car's suspension aligned, basically get the wheels sticking in the right direction. CT people on here can advise about this as there are not that many tyre suppliers that can cope with 13'' wheels these days. Please ask away as their is a wealth of info on this forum. Alternatively, email the RBRR organisers on ctrbrr@gmail.com, 4 of us are experienced Triumph small chassis men. -
Right, entry for most is done. Let's see the cars that entrants are using, pictures please.
