  1. Hi Alan, they are for fuel, the top LHS one is for the fuel pipe from the fuel pump, the other two are joined together. The central pipes are the breather from the rocker cover.
  2. Not an easy one. On my saloon, I have a circular piece of foam that the gearlever passes through, this has helped with both sound and heat insulation. Not the most effective idea, but it does help.
  3. Any news on what happened with this Coupe?
  4. The car was entered in the 92, 94 and 96 RBRR and completed them, it was also entered in the 98 RBRR but was withdrawn. Owned back then by Neil Horton from Coventry

  6. I think offering three places is a nice gesture by the Club and helps to motivate sponsor money collecting.
  7. What if they don't want to take part? Entry places have no real relevance, so a bit pointless.
  8. Teams should expect to spend a fair amount on fuel: Say 2100 miles in total for the weekend at 30mpg = 70 gallons at say £1.52/L= £485.00.....!!!!
  9. Right, 14 day and just over 4 hours till the entry mayhem starts again...really looking forward to seeing who enters and what cars everyone will be using. McJim and a few others will be vying for the top spot, that is entry no.4 as 1, 2 and 3 are taken already by the three highest charity money collectors from 2021.
  10. Hi, Probably not. We used it because we were worried about the covid implications of people standing around in groups etc. The other issue we had was that many crews did not use it, it needs to be used by 100% or is of not much use to us. Sad in a way as it added a interesting facet to the event. Tim
  11. Def. the low mileage original car. However, be wary of brakes (a comprehensive examination of the seals, brake calipers and wheel cylinders---look for leaks) and drivetrain. Would be prudent to service the car as soon as possible. Also, check the fuel hoses, if poss run the car on E5 fuel or re-new fuel hoses for e10 compatible hose.
  12. Hi Ben, I'll have them at your price. Are you going to Stoneleigh?
  13. Forgot about maintenance...GT6 by far. However the TR6 is more sturdy, better transmission and stronger components. I rather the revvy 2.0L six in the GT6, althought the torque of the 2.5L engine should not be discounted. As with all Triumph cars, they all respond to tuning as the major parts: Brakes, Engine, transmission and suspension can be improved quite drammatically. GT6 parts are cheaper as they do not have the TR Tax that some of the TR suppliers attach their prices......!
  14. I can only compare between a GT6 and a TR6, not driven live axle TRs (inlc 7s). Twisty narrow road, I would go for a GT6 as one can place the car so much better. I think GT6s are in their element when driven down fast A roads, put them onto the motorway and the fun goes. TR6 is very good on a motorway as the long legged gearing makes it easy to get mileage done, they do handle ok in a sloppy sort of manner and are fairly predictable. TR6 suspension is more compliant, so feels like it has a better ride. As the TR6 has more power, I think a GT6 would struggle to keep up with a well driven TR6, but there is not a lot in it. I am 5ft 8in so driving a GT6 is very easy for me, in fact it feels like there is more space to me. Also, the GT6 has more storage space: dashboards cubby holes and the space between the seat and the crossmember is very useful. The TR6 annoys me as apart from the door pockets and the glove box there is nothing apart from behind the seat, where can you place a bottle of water? TR6's convertible aspect is great when the weather suits it. Me, I rather the GT6 experience. Its weird, but in a way they are both very different, but in other ways very similar. I rather the GT6, but after 39 years of ownership, I would say that. However, if faced with a lot of driving in one day with the need to get somewhere, I would probably reach for the TR6s keys.
  15. Sam, Decent length wheel studs there, excellent. Are you fitting the arb again?
  16. Danny, I only order Souvenirs for those who finish. For some worthy types who fail, we offer them 'Endeavour Awards' . Its just some don't really want a Finisher Souvenir. New ruling: Any Scotsman or Scotswoman who enters will have their entry vetted and if they don't get the required score, their entry will be refused...er bad luck, Jimbo!
  17. Right after much consultation, the Club has reverted to £100.00 per entrant, so the minimum entry cost is £200.00. Apologies for the confusion, the RBRR Organisers and the Committee were not happy about the slight increase, so we had a chat! Potential entrants may wonder why we have reduced from the £125 of 20/21. The simple answer is that quite a few entrants are not that fussed about Finisher Souvenirs: Tankards or Picture Frames, so we have decided that should Finishers want a Souvenir, they can approach our supplier and purchase separately. It will all be set up to make it easy to obtain them. As those who have received them over the past 57 years know, they are individually engraved with the name of the successful entrant upon them with their entrant no. We must have issued nearly 2750 souvenirs over that period! I will still collect the souvenirs and they will be handed out at the CT Dinner in March 2024.
  18. Must agree, MK1 2000s have rubbish heaters...Mk2 seem positively pleasant in comparison! GT6...not sure it is necessary apart from using the demister.....!
  19. HI all, Sadly after a comprehensive re-review of costs for the forthcoming RBRR, we have been forced to increase the Entry Fee from £100.00/person up to £110.00 per person when Entry opens on 10/02/23. We very much regret that we have to do this and do hope that this change does not discourage any Crew from entering the RBRR. Obviously, should anyone who wants to enter have anything to discuss or ask about this, please contact me via this site or via my mobile phone no.which can be found on page 4 of Club Torque. 20. Be careful with the radiator drain plug, often seized, resulting in damage to the bottom tank when attempting to undo the tap. If the bottom is flowing, think its fair to say the tap will be fine...reckon issues are in the engine block.
  21. It'll be fine, its only metal and you have the tech to fix her...its called money. Keep going, its a great car.
  22. Ian, have you an infrared temperature gun, take readings along the water jacket, I wonder if the block is silted up, GT6/Vitesse suffer from this as the engine is longitudinally angled, as the Saloon engine is tilted over??? Does water/coolant flow out of the engine water tap?
  23. Tim, Thanks for the reply. Think it is about time you sat down and wrote an article for Club Torque about your RBRR experiences...would be a good read.
