  1. Fraser, take some pics of the front suspension and I am sure someone here will be able to advise. Rear spring may be past it, about £100.00 from Canleys. They buy from Britsh Heritage, so good quality. To fit, can be a pain, so a 'Spring Lifting Tool' is useful. Have a look in a Haynes manual has an illustration. TSSC site has them for sale at £60.00, an essential tool for small chassis cars. Relatively easy to make. https://www.canleyclassics.com/?catalogue=triumph-spitfire-mki/ii&diagram=triumph-spitfire-mki/ii-rear-suspension-propellor-shaft-and-road-wheels
  2. Genuine BP6ES are probably what most people fit and they seem fine!
  3. Pete, remember to get the car four wheel aligned when you have fitted the rack...not easy to find a place to get that done these days as the sensors that are used are clipped to the rim of the wheel in four places and the 2.5Pi bodywork will foul them, making it impossible to fit the sensors.
  4. That is a good idea, oil level moving around due to gravity.
  5. Probably an idea to talk to an overdrive specialist. Have a look at this site, they have a trouble shooting page. http://www.odspares.com/
  6. Blimey, Phil...that hood is excellent, really good fit. Well done.
  7. Jase, Speak to Mr Pearson, he is sourcing them from another company and they seem fine.
  8. Andy, It's difficult to remember as I set up mine sometime ago. I think I found the event page (CT's HDA main page) and went from there. I can't do a proving run so to speak as I don't wish to set up another page of my own. Mike, If you have not set up your page, maybe I could be on the end of the phone when you set your one up?
  9. Hi Mike, Private message me via this forum and let me know your phone number and I will call to discuss. Andy, Can you tell RBRR entrants who are having JG page set up issues to contact me via this forum and I will call them and discuss and help. Ta, Tim
  10. Lots of recent work done to my cars...no pics though: TR6: Fitted a TR GB sytec fuel pump, this is now positioned between the rear LHS wing and the boot wall, I have built a shield as I am worried about water and debris damage. Fitted the pre pump filter in the boot though. New Prestige Injection PSV in the boot as well. Whilst in there, I used the old cardboard boot wall between the boot and the fuel tank as a template to make a new one, then covered with some black carpet, surprised how well this has worked out. Intending on fitting a new light in the boot as well, that will be the same as the type fitted to the prop tunnel in TR6s. Looking at the car, I am surprised at how much work I have now done to her in the 4 years I have owned her: Engine, gearbox, drivetrain and brakes have all be renewed plus MX5 seats. Its now a fast tourer and capable of long journeys. Using her for the forthcoming RBRR, should be interesting! 2.5Pi (SU) mk1: New engine this year, rebuilt by James Cooper and a very nice job done by him. I did not enjoy taking the engine out though, found the dropping of the suspension to then pull the engine and gearbox out from underneath quite stressful, oh for a two post lift! Whilst at it, I renewed the bushes in the drag struts and all the fastenings that bolt the crossmember and engine mounting crossmember to the car, this was worthwhile. Also fitted new end rear subframe bushes as one had collapsed. Last year the car was fully re-wired with most of the circuits fitted with Lucas 6RA relays, something I may regret! Just need to get the car aligned and fix a gearbox leak and she will be good for next years motoring. GT6 mk2: Getting close to having owned her for 40 years...bought 5th December 1983. Drove her yesterday and I have a small list of work needed: fit the new leaf spring I purchased and sort out the header tank that I use in conjunction with the Golf radiator fitted to the car.
  11. I would think a call to Frontline would be a good idea. You cannot be the first person with this issue.
  12. Is it true that Revington TR are about to stop selling parts?
  13. Replace with a mocal radiator. Lots of 'chinese' copies around, doubt they would have withstood that load.
