  1. Blimey, the Police Car is looking good. John Scott from NI used to enter the RBRR in an ex-Ulster Constabulary white 2500TC with a jam sandwich paint scheme. I was always amazed that the vehicle had come through 'The Troubles' unscathed.
  2. Hi Ian, if you can find a good source of furflex that is better than the rubbish being sold by most traders, I would be grateful for the source. The drivers door one on my Saloon is rubbish, never fitted well....... Should have kept the old ones and maybe dyed them...
  3. Hi Paul, Regular RBRR man, Paul Hughes runs 2Spec classics in Warwickshire. Did my saloon gearbox last year...very good. http://www.2specgroup.co.uk/ I believe he would take it out and re-install. Otherwise try Dale at Moordale
  4. Hi all, The RBRR team has just sent out a page to all RBRR entrants with information about creating a JG Page. If entered and you have not received anything let us know via ctrbrr@gmail.com Regards, Tim
  5. Blimey Pete, this is bad news. Had a similar problem 4 years ago when moving from a house with space for 5 cars (3 under cover) to a place with space but only a single garage. Luckily enough a chap with a farm down the road has a dry barn where locals store cars with interest, so two of them are now in there. Not easy finding dry secure space in London, good luck.
  6. Wesley, where are you based. Pictures are good, the more the better.
  7. Hi Frank, I have to echo what Tim H has said. Quickfits are a good company, I used them for the set in my GT6 and found the quality, service and price to be very good. Make sure the Herald has strengthened mountings.
  8. Agree with the above, maybe get some form of written confirmation from the envisaged repairers that you are driving the car to them, maybe get the confirmation to state the date and time? I don't understand this no mot ruling for old cars...stiil lots of them on the road and all with the potential to injure or worse case kill....its another classic (excuse the pun) piece of daft UK legislation. It does seem that most responsible old car users MOT their cars, bravo!
  9. y idea Stated to take the engine out of my Saloon...not my idea of fun!
  10. Hi Wendy, Julia Lacey will run Gledrid as usual. I have not got down to the nitty gritty of the kit that is needed at each Control. But, I believe that Julia has banners and HiVis. As for telephone numbers, I will send the phone numbers of you all, Julia, Wendy, Chris and Steve to you all nearer the event. All other correspondence from me or Nigel will be sent to the head marshal of each control.
  11. Some great info here: http://auskellian.com/paul/links_files/performance_enhancements.htm
  12. Thanks Howard, I always thought a 'rivet counter' was the same as a 'bean counter', an accountant! Learn something new everyday! And thank you for entering the RBRR.
  13. Bit surprised that the entry has stalled at 124no (We have suffered one withdrawal as we had a 'double' entry). We will inevitably have some withdrawals from those who have entered, hopefully not that many though. So anyone reading this who is worried about getting a place should enter the event. Those entering now will be placed upon a 'Reserve List' and slotted in when a place becomes available, Payment will not be taken until this happens. For the last RBRR in 2021, we had 121 no starters and had suffered from over 30 withdrawals, so it can be seen that the event does receive quite a few entry withdrawals. It should also be noted that everyone who has ever wished to take part has gained an entry. For example, if say at the end of September, we had a few possible entrants on the reserve list, we would offer those people a place. We hope that a few reading who may have been put off entering will consider joining the reserve list with the aim of getting a place on the 28th RBRR of 2023.
  14. I realise by posting this that I am going to be perceived as a pedant, but whilst watching The Gold on BBC1, the drama about the Brinks Mat robbery of 1983 the other night I was niggled by the fact that the two Detectives are driving a Ford Granada mk3, these did not come out until 1985.... Also, whilst watching the second programme in the series on BBC Iplayer, the main copper, Hugh Bonneville looks at a home counties map that clearly shows the M25 as being fully built and Staines Upon Thames. The M25 was not completed until October 1986 and Staines did not take on the rather pompous new title until 2011. Gets my goat that these mistakes are made, its not difficult to check this stuff out....... Endeavour and Inspector George Gently are/were riddles with mistakes like this...spoils the programme for me and obviously makes one question the credibility of them...has the story been messed with? Maybe I should get out more?????
  15. 16. Forgot 123 distributors, have them on all 3 cars, fit and forget!
  17. Hi Ian, Dirk Devogleer a Club Triumph (UK) member who lives in Holland may be able to help. Otherwise, I guess you have tried the 'Triumph Razoredge Owners Club? http://www.trocltd.com/
  18. I spoke to a chap at the Novotel yesterday evening. Evidently it is closed due to building works with a view to open again in September. I booked a room there in early Jan and had no problem, obviously a little concerned, so will try and get to the bottom of this all.
  19. And the windscreen finisher on, looks unfinished without it.
