  1. I renewed some of the bulb holders on my TR6 with new ones and had problems with earthng, ending up having to solder earths onto them. I think wherever one buys them from they are all the same.....sorry. Though have a chat with Dave or Clare at Canleys, they may be able to help you.
  2. Very nice Damson mk3 with low mileage and never welded, but at £22K. https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1596504
  3. Howard, this lot might be able to help? https://www.dandmlrspares.com/about 01862821231 Broombank Edderton IV19 1LB
  4. Otherwise, Rimmers could probably get the part to you tomorrow? Must be a Land Rover specialist in the vicinity of Inverness?
  5. Stiff shift...look at the gearchange remote mechanism. Has the box got overdrive?
  6. Think Pete is correct, they are 5/16 unf. Paddocks do some chromed domed bolts that are used to fix the H frame into the floor of Spits and GT6s. https://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/centre-console-chrome-bolt-4 Bit pricey....
  7. Mine rotted out there..they all do!
  8. How is the car otherwise though?
  9. That is exactly what they were used for...I think my Dad had one as well.....weird!
  10. Blimey, not wrong there...excellent. Nice to hear about 'A TR7 V8's explouts with his Sprint....those shelves are so poor.
  11. Chris Witor is selling better quality chain tensioners, umm only for 2.5 duplex. So not a lot of good......Sorry. Some people do swap over to duplex kits for their Spits. Can be fiddly locating the cover onto the engine as the tensioner jams against the timing chain, wrap some steel wire around the tensioner and pull it to the side, once in position, pull the wire out. When taking off the cover, make a note where the different fasteners go, put them back in the same order. Its very easy to strip the alloy spacer block that runs over the main bearing cap. If you do strip a thread, don't mess around, but a steel block...A few suppliers sell them. James Paddock sell a nice timing cover bolt kit: https://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/timing-cover-bolt-kit-4 Best advice though, take your time.
  12. Never seen so many bulldog clips or at least the modern equivalent...how many did you use?
  13. Tom, For now HS6s will suffice...however, you never know....Lucas PI....er, doubtful!
  14. Not sure if one can to a Dolly Sprint, but some have fitted to the small chassis cars using Vauxhall Corsa modified kits.
  15. Hi Tel, There are four 'fuzzy' seals for the doors and rear side window: NS Door aperture NS Rear Window aperture OS Dood aperture OS Window aperture Originally. the rear windows had a specially formed seal, but these are obtainable. Therefore suppliers supply seals for this window that have the same section as the door seal. In addition the GT6 doors had two extra seals: One fitted into runner on top of seal: no longer available. This slides into a channel that is welded to the onto the sill, difficult to explain though! One fitted into the fuzzy seal against the A post, these are obtainable and do reduce wind noise and water penetration.
  16. Just had good news, my engine for the Saloon will be ready for collection a week on Saturday. Then 'throw' it into the car and vroom vroom!
  17. Dave, Might be an idea to have a chat with Dave Pearson at Canley Classics, he may have the info. The CV driveshaft kits he used to seel had Triumph 1500 CV joints, so he may well have the spec info you require.
  18. Awaiting return of the Saloon's short engine. so checked over the rocker gear and painted the water pump and housing. Tomorrow, I will be over at the barn where the car is stored and getting the engine bay ready for the engine and gearbox to be popped back in. Bought a new leaf spring for the GT6, so will fit that in a week or two.
  19. Mark, Aleays need Marshals. so help would be very much appreciated.
  20. Black 15'' leather motolita is a good choice. I have them in my TR6 and mk1 Saloon and very good they are. Expensive! Astrali wheels seem to be rated as well. One or two others have a bad reputation.
  21. We will suggest to all entrants that they treat all towns and villages that we pass through as 'Quiet Zones' and ask them to adhere to the speed limits for that particular town.
  22. Hi Maggie, Where are you based, I ask as someone on here may know of a decent company that can re-core the radiator?
