Maybe you should take up a hobby, such as driving and fixing old Triumph cars? ;D

There is already a Thread, 10 Countries Run, 10 CR Hotels if you look, which will save you a lot of time, with lots of Hotels listed and suggested, times and dates
  4. Has anyone thought of approaching the Liquidator to see if the tooling could be purchased? If it was an essential part for a Big Saloon, I'd at least invest the time in a telephone call or too. Better to try and save the tooling now, than maybe have to remake it later. There's enough rotoflex car owners out there to at least justify the attempt
  5. Tim, I think the 4a doors are similar to those on my 5. if so there may be a gasket between the hinge and the door - removal should give you a few thou, secondly the hinges into the A posts do have caged captive nuts which allow adjustment

Needs Stag gearbox, stag brakes - and thus Stag 14" wheels. Cooling probably OK, suspension OK, although Witor uprated springs will help
  10. Its most certainly a bent shaft. Have you not thought of cutting down the nyloc nut, so its of similar dimensions to the originals - it would then let you use the other 1/2 shaft?

  17. Despite the derision from certain members over my French Toll Tag, I have sourced my Swiss Vignette from http//www.tolltickets.com for 35 euros delivered - thats a little less than £30. I know certain "tight" gentlemen will look on ebay for discounted second owner ones, but for those of you who don't mind paying the correct price for a new one, I hope the link is useful.

  21. No more queuing at French Motorway Tolls for me. Bought a French toll tag saneftolling.co.uk 20 euros a year rental, plus 5 euros per month used (upto a maximum of 2 months) toll fees are taken by direct debit. Worth it for a number of reasons 1). I drive in France at least twice a year 2). no more waking my co driver for the tolls 3). no more loosing toll tickets 4). no more waiting for my co driver to rummage in her mislaid purse for the toll fee ! 5). no more " can you move the car please, I cannot reach the ticket slot!!!" 6). no more waiting in long queues to pay RESULT  :) :) :)

  23. ferny wrote:I'd like an electric heater in the Herald as the temp gauge hardly moves on mine! I did some research a while back and came to the conclusion that anything out there is pointless as the heating elements are far too small and to use something useful would require a lot of power. But then I wondered, what do electric cars use? I assume the designers have made use of the extra oomph available to them? My Leaf has a 3kw heater, but its supplied from a 400v 30kw battery. I suspect the 250 amps (approx) it would require from a 13.8v battery would require a larger battery than that already fitted to your herald, as its somewhat above the required starter motor cranking current!. And NO it doesn't use petrol to power the heater
