  1. Don't forget the basics are here on the new website.. https://clubtriumph.ltd/menu/18745/view
  2. Just a thought-bit of a bonkers one mind.. The event has grown massively and been a success every time in what ever "format" mainly thanks to the hard work of all the volunteers that make it happen.. I think there could be scope for a two tier event? IE - 5 day drive style event starting deep into the continent and a leaner "dash to  the finish" style event ? that has the overnight drives and graveyard sleepovers? Would need more volunteers etc - the dashers could aim to meet the cruisers for a re-start somewhere on the route then again at the finish for a pie and pint? One of  my favorite events was the 2009 - loved the night drive with the group power kip in the grave yard ..everyone waking up with the sun rise wiping the EP90 off the hands, camp stove brew ups -real atmosphere Anyway just thoughts!
  3. I mounted mine similar - but modified the stand plate and picked up on the engine mount pad -will see if I can find a pic
  4. better still you want the tell tale to tell you the solenoid has power..not that the switch is working ..lots of od faults are power loss to the solenoid due to cacky connector/broken wires from gear knob switch to solenoid/inhibitor switches ,dodgy earth etc if you pick up the live for the tel tale from the actual connector on the solenoid and run it back into the car to the lamp at least when the OD dosnt work and the lamp in on you know the fault is not loss of power to solenoid  and visa versa ...helped me find a fault on the spit  od very quickly on a RBRR
  5. Here is my personal opinion..Its about "spirit" ie "spirit of the event" ..you do the run to take part in that spirit ..there is all sorts of aspects to take spirit from ,,getting a car ready, long hours against the odds, challenging yourself, meeting friends, sharing, helping others...the cars don't need trackers the event is more than cars with trackers if you see what I mean? not explaining myself well here ! .. detouring massively off route to pick up a spare for a stranded Triumph at Exeter services  you hit a deer  this is after the co driver mistook the oil light for the indicator light coming on ..(the oil had been blown out everywhere due to a blocked breather) you still fix your car pick up the spares get them going and keep going yourself ..behind schedule missing signatures..but so what the beer tasted the same at the end and you know you did your best  ....we need to keep that spirit in fact to miss quote the Alarm we need "spirit of 66" ...yes to moving with the times in a common sense way but not to " over-sanitise" the world has changed so much in 50 years ..wont it be nice every two years to be allowed to get a taste of what it was like back in the day so to speak?
  6. To be honest at both venues I would eat a scabby horse so quantity is far more important to me than quality...and generally so thankful to be there dont give a toss ..didn't like waiting outside at LE but nowt you can do about that unless you restrict entry to 20 crews!

  12. I don't have one to refurbish/exchange -cant see new ones listed anywhere ? and I  have (2 off) twin line Lockheed masters (from scimitar ie sd1 etc)  sitting under the bench that with a repair kit should go again.. I was trying to re-use what I have kicking about! come on this is shedrecylcling!
  13. Reason for my daft question.. Baslidon Banger (1972 2000) came with a shed fitted non standard master cylinder - seems to be a old 1" bore unit fitted to 1970s alfas from the on reference I can find on it ..fair enough it works but I could do with  a spare or at least a seal kit etc ..anyway the servo packed up on the scimitar..which is very similar to TR7 SD1 LDV van etc ..I was wondering if the TR7  servo master PWDA etc is a mod worth doing to a 2000? as TR7 bits seem easier to get hold of?
