thescrapman
You have to move the kinks in the main chassis rails backwards to allow the auto oil pan to sit low enough. A few people have done it. Other option is to come up with a alternative way of operating the clutch. Air compressor? Seen that done before. Bit digital. Servo assist the clutch is other option, so you can hand operate it. Does not help your wife unfortunately
Nick Jones
While it has “been done” at least once (and I’ve even been in the car), it involves a very special chassis as there is really no way (NO way!) that any of the auto boxes associated with the Triumph 6 are going to fit between the chassis rails. Swifty75
This does take me back!!! I did love that Vitesse. It did complete the 2016 RBRR. I sold it in late 2017. I bought a Mk1 stag and did the 2022 RBRR in that. I have since sold the stag to my brother and bought a TR6. On to your point Ian, the Vitesse is a great car, but if you are unable to have an auto in it what about a stag? Mine was a great cruiser and so easy to drive with a BW35 auto and power steering! You also get the great noise from the 3 litre V8!
glang
Hate to say it but probably better doing it with a four pot 1500 and auto from a Dolomite?
