Dratno
Hi. My 13/60 has been difficult to start which is largely solved now by draining and flushing the tank and fuel lines, replacing fuel filter and cleaning the carb out. Now the issue is that the engine dies when running along, on a warm engine, briefly overcome by a quick blip of the choke, but then dies anyway. Have set the Stromberg carb best I can for tickover speed etc - would a new or refurb carb help? The fuel pump provides flow but not sure at what pressure. Has anyone else had similar problems? glang
The way blipping the choke makes a difference sounds like you have a weak mixture problem and this could be because of incorrect carb adjustment or a problem in it. The mixture adjustment is done using the knob underneath the carb which you can turn by hand or with a flat blade screwdriver. With the airfilter removed you need to look in the mouth of the carb and with a finger lift the air piston inside to reveal the needle and brass jet it slides into. Screw the knob clockwise until the jet comes up flush with the bottom of the carb mouth and then wind it back down 3 full turns of the knob. This is the baseline setting for the mixture so now see if that has made any improvement....
