GigGleR Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 We've just obtained a Herald 948 TC Coupe to sell on our pitch. It needs a new exhaust tho' and the boss want ot put a mild steel one on it rather than a S/S one (Don't ask me why) but I can't find anywhere, can anyone help me?also on whipping the dash pots off the 1.25" SU carbs we discovered that there where no damper springs in them. None of us have ever dealt with SU's this small before so does anyone know if this is normal. If not what springs should they have in?Thanks,Toby.
heraldcoupe Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Hi Toby,I've got a large quantity of Stanpart exhausts here, including plenty of 948 Herald systems. Problem is that I lack the small central expansion box, though I know plenty have taken this out and used a short length of mild steel instead. Drop me a line privately if you want a price. The carbs on a 948 TC Herald should be H1s, which are 1.125" rather than 1.25". The H1s shouldn't have springs, at least not as the factory intended.Cheers,Bill.
