completing door

Hi all,

the doors have to be reassembled after they were dismantled years ago.

There is a nice guide (body notes) how to do this.

But, your experiences, is it better to reassemble the door on a workbench or having the door mounted to the car?

I'd do it on the car. The doors are heavy enough as bare shells, why make them even more cumbersome for fitting and alignment?

Completing the door worked quite nicely.

However, if I wind up the window glass fully, it protrudes the gutter.

Is there a kind of stop?

Yes the door glass has a stop and can be seen in fig 35 of those notes.

Thank you very much !!!  I read these notes many times, but overlooked this. I´m sure it was not mounted on my doors. Had some pics from the doors "before dismantling" and there was nothing.
