danielbushell
I am a new club member and am currently restoring a spitfire 1500. I am currently rebuilding the rear end, the car was part restored when I acquired it. When fitting the rear valance there is a gap each side of 5mm, has anyone come across this problem before?I was thinking about filling the gap with a thin piece of metal on one end and flattening the lip on the other end, would this be the best way to go about it? migntig
Will it not pull together with clamps? Are the rear wings welded in place? Try getting some clamps on the flanges, it is suprising how much of a gap will dissapear. If you have enough flange depth, you could try bending it back out and reforming a shallower flange.Happy fiddling !!

heraldcoupe
The fit of the rear wing looks pretty evil, have you got any closeups of this area?Cheers,Bill.
