Fabricated exhaust

This exhaust was made by a friend out of commercially available, preformed stainless sections which I thought was rather good.
The racer is fully home built and powered by a modified Cortina 1600 engine.
He claims all the pipes have ended up to be of same length which must have taken some clever manipulation.
His family has been involved in building race cars for many years.

Neat job.

I made a set of equal length pipes for a Ford side valve V8 once (28" from memory and then into two large collectors made from an old round muffler). The engine was in an  A40 I built for drag racing. Big problem was taking the middle port from one side across to the other side for the correct scavenging effect, plus snaking the rear ports around to maintain lengths.
