Freebird
Hello everyone. The cooling system on the Vitesse is marginal to say the least. It's standard apart for an electic fan that I fitted several years ago but with 2.5 litres to cool it struggles at time of stress. I want to get the rad recored, but with a trip the the Nurbergring next Saturday (lots of stress) there's no time for that.It has occured to me that the plastic cowling around my fan (Rover 400) may be restricting flow. It seems to be designed to funnel air through the fan from as much of the rad as possible, but at speed is it just geeting in the way?So who reckons I should cut big lumps out of it to expose the core? Davemate
I would say yes,it can only cause more air flow as the flow will have more routes out
Clive
Some cowls have rubber flaps so that air can flow out easier when moving, but shut when the fan is on, best of both worlds :)
Freebird
Right then - the deed is done. I didn't have a camera handy though. :-/
