Horn push fitting

Hi Guys, 

As anyone fitted this type of horn push before? 

I have circled the clip that I thought compreses and then you push in the horn push, I am worried that if I did try and force it I would do some damage, hence the reason why I am posting this. 

The boss does not have a hole where that clip sits into either. 

Is it a case where I have to use some brute force?

Hi Phil, I believe that the clip you are looking at should push in and hold the horn push in the boss. Have you tried pushing the clip in with you finger to see if it springs out again? the clip does not have a place to go inside the boss. it should just hold against the side of the boss ( it also serves to earth the horn push when you depress it).

Hi Ron,

I have tried pushing it in, it moves a litlle and a bit side to side but not enough to fit in the boss, does it need forcing in?

Hi Phil,

I have the same steering wheel by the look of it and it should push in. Try inserting the clip first then pushing the plastic section in after. Hope this helps.

I am thinking it is faulty then, I have tried pushing with all my might but it does not go in enough to clear the boss.

And that clip is also the earth to the boss which connects to that strip in the centre
You will not damage anything by pushing in hard
