Chambers
Apologies that this is coming up, I have done the search of both here and generally and there seems to be so many different results. I am looking to purchase a battery for my Spit 1500 however cannot work out which one. The answers all have it as a minimum 40Ah with 330cca but the sizes range from 024, 025 (most likely) however speaking to the local motor factors based on my reg, they say a 038 35Ah. Can anyone give me a definitive size?
Velocita Rosso
Go for the higher amph and higher cranking amps........dont go low on amps or price....not worth it
Alex
I have a Yuasa 038 in my blue spitfire and a Yuasa 067 heavy duty in my white car......the price wasn’t much difference to be honest.
Chambers
Thanks, does the 067 fit okay for the length with it being quite a bit bigger than the 038?
Clive
063 is a common, and therefore well priced, battery. Fits the box fine, terminals helpfully now at the back away from the clamp, and still the correct sides so no change to leads. 075 will also fit, but a fair chunk of cash more. 038 was original fitment, but a bit harder to source in a quality make. Nick Jones
Just put a Halfords "3 year" 063 in our Spit Mk IV. It cost £ 42 (with trade card) and it replaced an earlier version of itself date stamped June '04. 14 years is the oldest battery I've had..... I got it from a scrapyard in '05.....
