nibby
Quoted from wukkie1 hi me again I have a rattly clutch runs ok but annoying any views what it entails to look and replace whatever bearing regards bill Hi BillDON'T put a Koyo uprated bearing in there like I did recently!!I had to take the gearbox/od out due to o/d problems and decided to replace the clutch whilst it was out like everyone advises, anyway the bearing the specialist supplied me along with the new clutch was a Koyo one, not only has it been a nightmare to get the clutch to work since installing it but have since been informed these bearings are not designed to sit on the clutch fingers constantly which the stag bearing should, also like yourself there seems to be a lot of noise emitting from the clutch area now.Once this weather cools down I will be putting my old clutch back in there. nibby
Quoted from wukkie1 thanks for that how long does it take I have a 2 post hoist bill Tbh Bill this is probably the only time I would rather do it in a pit rather than a lift because there are some awkward nuts and bolts on top of the bellhousing that needs someone underneath (in the pit) with a long extension bar on the socket and up top someone holding the nut with a spanner.Mark
wukkie1
the clutch only seems to rattle when warm, originally I thought is was a exhaust baffle rattle, is the clutch bearing the only possible cause. can of worms I expect thanks
StagNL
Just for info, I removed the little spring inside the clutch slave cylinder on my Stag. Since then there sometimes is a tinny rattle from the clutch area but the reason is the missing spring not keeping the whole lot in contact with each other.Maybe yours has a missing or broken spring?Note: I took the spring out for a perfectly good reason. It works fine without.Julian
wukkie1
THANKS JULIAN IN THE LAST MONTH I HAVE HAD NEW SLAVE CYLINDER, TO GET IT TO WORK I HAD TO CUT OLD PISTON IN HALF AND ADD TO THE SLAVE CYLIDER, NOW OK, THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG INSIDE BUT IF I REMOVE GEARBOX AND CHANGE EVERTHING 1. Flying Farmer
Did you bolt the slave cylinder to the correct side of the adaptor plate?
