HS4 carb question on Spitfire 1500

On the float chambers of the HS4 rear (FZX1122R) there are three connections: one for petrol in from the pump, one going to the front carb and another. On the front (FZ1122F) there is a in from rear carb and another.

Where do these two others go.  The books show hoses connected but not where they go.

This is the overflow (spill). On early Spitfires this leaked over the resevoir and onto the exhaust.    :o

On later 1500's there are pipes to dump any petrol overflow on the ground by the radiator (all rather embarrasing really).  :B

Actually breathers for float bowls but also act as overflows.
