Dizzy clamp, from what ?

Hi,

When i bought a new dizzy last year for my spitfire there was this clamp on it.. but clearly not the right one.
So re-used the old one.

Now from or for what is this clamp then? 🙂

Looks like an A-series one, though there are a few variations of those, so Mini, Morris Minor, Austin 1100/1300, Marina and so on.

I and a friend have the dizzy's fitted now for over a year and been working good.
Bought them at Rimmers, but James Paddock etc sold the same ..

Yeah just seen them, forgot about it  
The guy is going tuesday after an 123 dizzy for his TR6, so not needed anymore ..

Ive not seen one like that on an A series, anid I've had quite a few A series motors over the years. A series ones generally have two 'ears' not one, and A plus is a fork, although that's not to say it isn't A series, its maybe just one I've never seen! But I don't think that it's A series.

A series, Aldon yellow distributor has such a clamp. We just put one in the Mini of my son.
Screw head was metric 10mm in our case.
