Getting rid of the dizzy

I am looking to convert the Green Missile to Megajolt ignition which means I can get rid of the distributor. What do I have to do to ensure that the shaft driving the dizzy and the oil pump remains intact / centered or can I simply cap off the hole? Anyone done this who might have any pictures?
And if they have, how did they secure the toothed timing wheel to the crank pulley wheel and mount the pickup sensor?
