pimp my vit
Anyone got a photo of the header rail above the windscreen, does it have a piece of roof lining glued to it or does the roof lining itself stretch over it after the roof is fixed back on?Much appreciated thanks!! Pete Lewis
on mine the headlining is wraped/glued to thefront drop flange on the roof, when roof is pulled down on the seal it comes level with the screen rubber, there's nothing of the header to see !!the a posts are covered with a seperate strip glued in place on the apereture flanges and screen seal and door seals fitted over .if that helps Pete
pimp my vit
Thanks Pete, I have the 'A' posts covered (new in headlining kit from Newton) it just that it looks odd with nothing on the top edge, does that mean I can put the windscreen in prior to fitting the roof? Anyone with a photo would be much appreciated!!!
Mark Hammond
Header rail same as A posts on Vitesse. Headlining goes on roof before it is bolted to the car and it doesn't matter whether the roof is on or off fit the screen.Mark
pimp my vit
What does that mean, header rail has to have material stuck on to it as well as 'A' posts?

That's exactly right. Heralds just have painted A Posts and header rail, Vitesses have them covered in the same headlining material as the roof.Mark
Casper
Costigan: "The roof lining on most Heralds was attached to the front edge of the roof and trapped when the roof was bolted into position; on Couriers and estates the trim continued over the front and was trapped under the windscreen seal; all Vitesse saloons used the normal Herald arrangements, but had additional trim across the top and sides of the windscreen frame."Usual caveats.C.
