Deleted User
From what I can work out from the Carter Bar control, 95 cars started.Car 56, Steven Burrows/Martin Burrows/Sam Burrows, 2000 Mk2 Saloon did not start. Gearbox problems on the way to the start, I think. At Carter Bar, 3 cars didn't show up.Car 27, Katie Foreman/Ed Burridge, 2000 Mk1 Saloon.Car72, Ian Harling/Martin Leaver, Dolomite 1850HL.Car 113, Wolfgang Spann/Sharon Mindak, TR7.Car 79, Francis Moll/Michael Sutton, TR7, were very, very late coming through at 2:15am just as we taking down the CT banner. We should have closed at 0:58 but we felt we had to give the late runners a chance to get a signature. There's plenty of mileage left to make up time anyway. They had taken a tour of all the local towns and villages and ended up considerably off route.Cars 59, 88 and 93, were also very late but seemed to be running well. Car 88 reported making a 20 mile detour. I think they went looking for petrol at one point.Jim.

mpbarrett
I wonder how many will finish. There do not seem to be many that have broken down and being recovered, or at least based on the message board and FB.mike
Nick Jackson (2)
At Sixpenny Handley, the people out if it were 4, 5, 23, 27, 35, 56, 68, 72, 82 and 88.Car 3 was running about 2 hours late due to welding repairs in Cornwall but was still in it. Car 113 turned up at Sixpenny Handley so didn't retire.Nick (Marshall at Sixpenny Handley)
Nick Jones
27 & 56 didn't start. Not sure about 72. 23 crashed.According to hearsay, rumour and the message board, 4, 5, 68 & 88 (more than 60% of terminal breakdowns) all swing axle cars, expired due to some form of driveshaft failure. Which is a pretty striking result. No doubt this will be properly researched in due course!Nick
